The water level continued its rise. Water steadily seeped in and flooded the floor of the school bus. The dread within me spiked as the water level rose.
The water reached waist-high. But there was no way I was alone on a bus sinking in a deserted lake. A bad dream! I was going to wake up and be safe and dry in bed.
The water covered my nose and mouth.
The water filled the bus and I still didn’t wake.
A deathly black washed over me.
